Myrto Douma is a Greek cellist , pianist and music teacher . Music has always been one of the biggest inspirations and most important parts of her life. Her international upbringing and training introduces a career that expands beyond conventional borders. Though born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was raised in Greece where she started traveling extensively at a young age and was introduced to her first instrument, the piano at the age of 4. Vocal lessons soon followed, with the piano and cello eventually finding its primary place of study within her life. In 2000 she earned the second Prize in National Competition for Musical Accomplishment and Performance awarded from the Greek Ministry of Education and the Greek ministry of Culture. She studied Violoncello under the Russian Professor and Soloist Marina Kislitsina (Principal Cello of Athens State Orchestra) at the National Conservatory of Music in Athens, Greece and Vanjel Nina (Munipal Music School of Lamia, Greece) receiving a first prize award in Music Performance. While pursuing her BA there in Music Performance she studied piano with esteemed professors Athena Stefopoulou (Municipal Music School of Lamia , Greece) and Victoria Vourtsi (Athens Conservatory of Music,Greece).
Myrto eventually moved in the United States where she continued her musical journey as she earned a second Bachelor degree in Music Performance at Brooklyn College. While in the States she studied cello with esteemed professors Dr. Frederick Zlotkin and Nickolas Canellakis and piano with Dr. Alexandra Lewis and attended numerous master classes such as “ Music Of Maurice Ravel” with Peter Basquin and “ String Workshop “ with Martin Wulfhorst to name a few.She is currently a piano and cello instructor in New York City while pursues a Masters in Music Business at Berklee College online. music teacher
Cellist and multi-instrumentalist Ansel Cohen was born in Santa Rosa, California, and grew up throughout South Florida. From high school onwards, he began playing with the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, and started exploring the world of freelance recording. Having previously attended Florida State University and Berklee College of Music, Ansel finished his undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College Conservatory. Nowadays Ansel plays with ensembles such as the Empire Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Symphonie, Richmond County Orchestra, and Park Slope Chamber Orchestra. Also an avid pit musician, Ansel performs regularly in the NYC/NJ theatre circuit, and has experience with more than 75+ musicals. As a recording artist, Ansel has had the pleasure of playing on film and television scores, as well as with artists such as The Kennedy Administration, Wild Nothing, Cale Hawkins, Quiet Friend/Mister Lies, and Ben Talmi.
Montana Heater is a Los Angeles born jazz guitarist, vocalist, multi instrumentalist, and long time music teacher. Her love of music began at a very young age; inspired by a musical family, she began teaching herself guitar at age 12. Later she fell in love with jazz and at age 17 moved to Barcelona to study jazz at Conservatori del Licieu through Berklee School of Music’s International Network. She has studied with many prominent players and educators in her field including the world-renowned John Pisano, Tim Pierce, Larry Koonse, and Yotam Silberstien, eventually graduating with her BA in Jazz Studies on guitar. In addition to this she has done countless recording projects as a session guitarist, played with some extremely prominent jazz musicians, played at several festivals including the WWJF, and worked with several bands in the Los Angeles scene including Andre Miguel and the Moment as well as her own projects. After 7 years of working and teaching in L.A., she now resides in New York where she takes joy in playing and teaching to pass on her great passion for music
